Dia de los Muertos translated in English, Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in Mexico and by Mexican Americans.
The holiday is wrongly associated with Halloween due to the closeness on the calendar and no doubt the Mexican artwork of dressed and brightly decorated skulls and skeletons, however it is in remembrance of All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day which occur in early November of the Christian calendar.
